download (8)Want to unite not only body and mind, but also the soul? I know rejuvenating your spirit is an essential element of health, yet rarely do so many care for themselves in the way that will truly bring vibrant health from the inside out. So we’re getting you started. Read on for some great habits to rejuvenate your soul and if any of them appeal to you, make sure to add them to your routine!
Movement

Exercise and getting the blood pumping are essential to maintaining inner balance. When you are feeling stagnant, get up and move! If you are stuck in an office, take a few minutes to go for a walk around the grounds, use the stairs or do whatever you can manage. Do deep breathing exercises while engaging in these activities and observe how much more alive you feel afterwards! Carve out time in your busy schedule for regular workouts. Whether it’s longer walks, bike rides, time in the gym, etc., make it a priority to add physical activity to your schedule.

Silence

Set aside some time each day to just be with yourself. This means disengaging from others, all noise and any physical distractions. When you focus inward, you give yourself a chance to take stock of your spirit. If you’re feeling imbalanced, you can use this alone time to decide what you need to do to balance yourself. Disconnecting from all the outside noise also re-centers your spirit and puts things back in perspective. It is so easy to get wrapped up in and overwhelmed by the little (and big) daily stresses.

Take a moment during your day to be aware of your physical environment. Is it chaotic, restrictive and full of clutter? If it is, spend a few minutes organizing your immediate space, whatever that may be. Too much clutter leads to feeling trapped and overwhelmed, so get rid of everything you don’t need. This will exponentially increase your feeling of well-being and make you more efficient!

Fuel Up!

Your body needs fuel to perform well, and everyone knows a healthy body helps keep your mind healthy. Drink plenty of water. Make sure you are hydrating often, as dehydration not only affects body performance, but mood, energy levels and the ability to think clearly. Be conscious of the kinds of foods you are eating. Complex carbohydrates, saturated fats, vitamins and minerals are great for you, so make the effort to have all of these in your daily diet. It’s okay to enjoy foods that do nothing for your body like your favorite junk foods. Just be sure to enjoy them in moderation. You can indulge your sweet tooth as long as you get all the healthy food in too!

Your Child-Like State

download (9)We all have within us the little child who we once were—a child who lived fully without judgment, did what made them happy in each moment and never took themselves or the world too seriously. Take a few moments every day to tap into your child state, whether it’s through a fun activity, something that makes you giggle or something that makes you blissfully happy. Remember, it’s the simple things that children appreciate and value. So rediscover your childlike self and bring them out to play each day, even if it’s only for a few moments!
